Born in Nagoya in 1977 and raised in Tokyo and Chicago, Yosuke Kato is a Japanese-English bilingual Cinematographer.
Yosuke graduated with a BA in literature from Waseda University, and started his career at Pyramid Film in Tokyo. After working on numerous commercials, he went on to study at the famed London Film School, where he specialized in cinematography and refined his artistic craft as a filmmaker.
Yosuke has directed photography on a lot of independent short and feature films, and many of these films have screened at festivals of note including at Edinburgh, Busan, Hong Kong, with the addition of several awards including Gold Kahuna Award at the Honolulu International Film Festival and Jury Award at the Mexico International Film Festival, both for Life Just Is directed by Alex Barrett.
After traveling the world extensively for his training and work, Yosuke is currently based in Tokyo and primarily working on commercials and music videos.
